Water Treatment: Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is based on the use of plain water for medicinal purposes. The mechanism of its action is:
• Mechanical
• Thermal
• Reflective
Due to mechanical and thermal effects on the organism, body massage is conducted with pressurized water at 4 atm, as a result of which the vascular tone and elasticity are normalized, lymph and blood circulation are improved, which in turn results in increased metabolism and improved overall muscle tone. There is also positive influence on the removal of cellulite and the infected cells of the epidermis. Acting also on the reflexogen zones, the functional state of the autonomic nervous system is regulated.
Underwater massage - is carried out in the bathtub when taking a simple bath, but the water jet is supplied under pressure (up to 4 atm), which has the effect of mechanical massage, acting on the reflex zones.
It is assigned in the case of post-traumatic states, in various diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, cellulitis and post-stroke rehabilitation period.
Vertical shower - is assigned in the case of diseases of small pelvis: hemorrhoids, prostatitis, impotence, female diseases, stones in the rectum.
Round shower is used in functional disorders of the nervous system: fatigue and depression, skin diseases, which are accompanied by itching and metabolism disorders.
Charcot Shower is prescribed in functional disorders of the nervous system and obesity.
Scottish shower - this is done by alternating the temperature of the hot and cold water (15 ° -45 °). It is assigned again polyneuritis, hypotension, neurasthenia, muscle atrophy.
Hydrotherapy is contraindicated for patients with arterial hypertension (grade 3), cancer, tuberculosis, skin infections, and patients prone to bleeding.
